What is kinesiology?

This is the number one question I get asked when people have not seen a kinesiologist before – So Alice, what is kinesiology?  Actually that’s after this one – can you help me?

I’ve written a great blog on What is Kinesiology Therapy – read it here

Tell me more about what you do

KinesiAlice uses kinesiology (muscle testing) to find the stresses and imbalances in your body in relation to what your health and wellness goals.  Each goal or concern has a particular stress pattern in the body, so it is important to be clear about what you want to work on to get the most out of your therapy.

I combine this information (biofeedback) with my knowledge in Traditional Chinese Medicine, and your health history to uncover the root cause of the issues that you have going on at the time, and in the past.  When you come to see me, you will be amazed at how all of these seemingly unrelated things generally have one or two root cause patterns.  I relate that back to 5 element theory (I will be writing a blog soon), and help you to connect what is going on, and more importantly, WHY.  Then we can get to work resolving things for you.

This is the power of Mind Body Medicine – what is happening with your emotions, physical self, mental health, biochemical health and even spiritual health.  I consider all of these things together in one therapy to get to the bottom of your concerns and provide a safe, non-invasive solution for you.

Why You?

I’m interested in why things are happening the way they are for you.  Why you and not someone else?  That’s my favourite question – why?  For me, it’s not enough that you have anxiety or depression.  A diagnosis or label doesn’t really make you feel any better. Telling you to take things, avoid foods, eat a certain way and continue this forever is not the answer.  These things absolutely help, but it doesn’t explain why.  Why are you iron deficient?  What is the reason that you’ve had lifelong problems with your period?  Why does your child suffer severe anxiety or have learning difficulties?  That is what I’m interested in – why.  When you know why, then you are empowered to be able to make changes and participate in the solution, as well as receiving help and support from me.

What is Integrative Therapy?

Integrative therapy, or its full name Integrative Complementary Medicine Therapy, is an advanced qualification that I studied after kinesiology and mind body medicine.  I uses kinesiology to uncover the stress patterns in your body, and then draw from my training in aromatherapy, homeopathy, nutrition, diet therapy, naturopathy, traditional chinese medicine theory, NST therapy (a combination of advanced bowen therapy, osteopathy, and chiropractic), tissue salts and more, to pull the best bits out of everything. This gives you the best of the complementary medicine world in one natural therapy.  My advanced knowledge here enables me to get to the root cause of your issue, and resolve it as quickly as possible.

It also has taught me how to research well, and work in conjunction with conventional medicine practitioners as well as other natural therapists to provide the best outcomes for you.
